The game rules are very straightforward and involve the player attempting to get the highest mixture of cards possible in order to acquire cash. Generally, the minimum succeeding hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money getting larger for each better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It goes without saying that the payout schedule can range from machine to machine, so that experienced gamblers are able to choose the most beneficial machine each and every instance.
After the initial round has completed, the player can either decide to stay on in an attempt to maximize their winnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any credits that they may have won. Additionally, a few versions of the game give the gambler a chance to double their profits, in which instance another round is played. There are also variations among individual games, with some virtual decks including wild cards and other differing characteristics to increase playability.
