Video Poker is a favored game that can be gambled on in casinos throughout the world, or in your house on your computer, through a net account. The game rules are absolutely straightforward and consist of the player trying to get the highest mixture of cards achievable in order to win cash. In this respect it is much the same as a normal game of poker, apart from the involvement with other players. Of course, methods used in a real-life game of poker, like bluffing, will be useless in Video Poker.
The game of Video Poker starts when the gambler puts credits (either tokens, tickets or money) into the machine and pushes the draw button. A hand of five cards will be "given out" on the video screen.
The Electronic Poker machine also has hold buttons, and enthusiasts will need to now pick which cards to keep and which to discard. For the cards the bettor wishes to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons must be pressed so that they light up. The player can decide to keep any number of cards they want, from all to none.
After the enthusiast has decided on which cards he would like to retain, the player will then press ‘deal’, which will mean that any new cards will be needed they will be handed out. The hand is now finished, with the Video Poker machine analyzing the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands shown on the payout schedule.
Normally, the lowest winning hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money increasing for each better hand. A list of common winning hands begins with jacks or better, moving on to 2 pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It goes without saying that the pay out schedule can change from game to game, so that discerning enthusiasts are able to select the most money-making game each and every instance.
After the first round has finished, the player can either decide to continue on and try to to maximize their winnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any credits that they may have won. Further, several styles of the game give the bettor a chance to increase their wins, in which case a further hand is played. There are also variations between individual games, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other differing characteristics to increase playability.
